CrossAlta Gas Storage and Services is an experienced storage operator and has provided marketing services to a variety of customers since 1994. It is a joint venture of TransCanada Pipelines Limited and BP Canada Energy Company. CrossAlta has established an industry reputation for customer responsiveness and reliable service. The CrossAlta storage facility is strategically located on the TransCanada Alberta pipeline system. It is located near the town of Crossfield, Alberta, Canada, 50km north of Calgary. Natural gas is stored in an underground depleted gas reservoir that has been used to produce gas at this location since the 1960’s. The plant’s electrically-driven compressors and gas processing facilities are staffed 24 hours a day.
