Pollution prevention is a key component of CrossAlta Gas Storage & Services Ltd.'s commitment to environmental
excellence. At CrossAlta it has long been our goal to minimize hazardous waste and prevent pollution at the source
by using environmentally preferred materials; recycling and re-using materials wherever possible; and practicing
energy efficiency in internal operations.

CrossAlta employs various safety measures in the ongoing operation of the storage facility and has never encountered a significant structural integrity issue or safety event with the storage facility. The storage facility is comprised of two adjacent, separate, naturally occurring reservoirs, comprising 40 % and 60% of the total storage capacity respectively. These reservoirs are depleted producing reservoirs and at the present time, the storage reservoirs are only re-pressured to approximately 80% of the original discovery reservoir pressure each year. The reservoirs were in production since 1964 and have been operated by CrossAlta since 1994 as a storage reservoir.
